EOD 1 – Sunfish & Sun

July 6, 2022
It’s been a good day – we had a good start in nice breeze out through the gate. It’s been light since, but we’re doing our best to connect the dots. We did hit our first (and hopefully only) thing about an hour ago. We think it was a sunfish because we saw one just minutes after we thudded, going 5 knots. It seemed to be a glancing blow, so hopefully the sunfish was alright. It hit our keel, thankfully, and not the rudder.
It’s been so sunny, since we emerged from the fog past the Golden Gate – not at all what the brochure says about the first few days of Pac Cup. We even dared to get out of our foulies because we were frankly, boiling!
As a reminder, the tracker is 4 hours delayed, and YB does its updates a bit sporadically.
We’re feeling groovy – the boat’s feeling good, and we’re getting into more breeze as I type this.
