A boatyard in San Francisco

May 28, 2014

…and finally, Shearwater arrived safe and sound (late in April).  There were no issues during her transport, but the weather gods tried us while we worked to get her back into the water.  We were subjected to one torrential downpour after another that kept us soaked and freezing cold.  We managed, though, helped by the workers at the boatyard (Bay Marine) – we launched, and then were able to re-step the mast (with difficulty…one of the guys had to take a grinder to the Spartite mast boot to get the mast back through the cabintop…but finally, the mast was back in place).  We were so relieved to be able to be on our way to Richmond Yacht Club the same day that Shearwater had arrived in San Francisco.

However – the real amazing part of the boatyard in San Francisco (Bay Marine) – this place is run on bicycles!
