First ones here! First ones here.

April 30, 2014

Cue Clark Griswold…  I’m not sure if it is 100% true, but it might be.  Shearwater is now happily tied to the dock at Richmond Yacht Club and it being more than 2 months before the start, we might the first entrants in Pacific Cup from out of town to arrive.

So, the good news is that Shearwater made the dirt voyage from Texas with no problems.  We got her launched and the mast stepped at Bay Marine on Friday despite the rain.  I thought it never rained here?  We even managed a short sail out through Raccoon Strait and back.  Super fun!  So much fun we forgot to take pictures.

Special thanks to the RYC Harbor Master, John Dinwiddie, who has been incredibly helpful, welcoming, and accommodating.  We love it here already.

Lookin’ good! Never a fun time when she’s out of the water and comin’ from me….that’s gospel! Since you have what is known as a USCG documented vessel, I’m sure all of us are wonderin’ where your documentation number is……AREN’T WE?????? LOL. Glad she made fine. Now get busy tweaking her for the race!

    Love,
    Dad
